Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information Locally Picked ("we") collects through Locally Picked, why, and what we do with it.

Who we are

Locally Picked is responsible for the personal information described here. You can contact us at locallypicked1@gmail.com.

Information we collect

  • When you send a quote request: your name, email address, phone number (if given), postcode and the details of the job. We share this with the businesses we send the request to (we tell you who they are), so they can contact you about it.
  • When you message a business: your name, email address, phone number (if given) and your message. We pass these to that business.
  • When you leave a review: your name (shown publicly, as you enter it), your email address (never shown) and your review.
  • When a business applies or is listed: contact details and business information, most of which appear publicly on the listing.
  • When we contact businesses about joining: business contact details from public sources, such as the business's own website. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest in building the directory, and every message includes a way to opt out.
  • When you browse: we count page views and clicks on contact buttons for each listing, so businesses can see how their listing performs. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

Cookies

We use one essential cookie to keep forms secure and to keep businesses and administrators signed in. It isn't used for tracking. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers.

Who processes data for us

  • Cloudflare hosts the website and database.
  • Resend sends our emails.

How long we keep it

We keep quote requests and messages for up to two years, then delete them. Reviews stay published unless you ask us to remove them. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it, by emailing locallypicked1@gmail.com. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
